Kenworth W900 Manual Electrical Problems
Hey, I am new here, searched around and looks like there is a lot of knowledge around here! I bought a 1990 Kenworth W900 recently, and the A/C doesn't work. Had the system charged, and replaced the low pressure switch, however, I still get nothing. I can bypass the circut and kick the compressor in by jumping the wires, and I get lots of cold air.
So there must be a wiring issue. I checked the relay as well, and it is fine. So I am stunmped as to where to go next. What I really need is a wiring diagram for this truck. Specfically pertaining the the A/C system. Kenworth will not give one to me, because they think they should be fixing it and not me. Any help or diagrams is greatly appreciated!
I had an 88 T600 which has basically the same harness. The main control on the A/C is the trinary switch which can go and make you lose your A/C. I also remember them being bad for the actual control panel going out so there was no signal getting to the trinary switch. Those year of K-W had the split fuse panel which was notorious for letting water inside and causing no end of problems. Finally you can buy a wiring book direct from K-W that will cover your truck. I bought one when I had mine I think it was a hundred bucks or so.
Worth every penny.
