Excellent Sewing Machine The Janome Memory Craft 4000 is an excellent computerized sewing machine. It originally sold for $2,000. It has over 200 stitches, and two alphabets.
You can mirror-reverse and elongate the stitches. There is a programmable needle-stop button, a lock stitch button and lots more. This machine is extremely quiet.
You can adjust the pressure foot pressure, which is great for quilting and applique. Few machines have this important feature, but it is essential for quilting and foe sewing lightweight fabrics. You also get a full 1-amp motor, which is hard to find in newer models. The stitch quality is really excellent, and it sews up to 7mm wide. Verified purchase: No.
Wishing I had asked more questions I wish I could say I love it, i'm sure I would if I could figure out how to get the stitch regulated. It did not come with a manual so I had to get one online but it didn't help with stitch. I will probably have to take it in to a repair person and spend more $$ on getting it regulated. I purchased it because I wanted a machine with a needle up/needle down button. I have 2 home machines and an industrial one that have served me well for over 25 years, I was trying to update on a budget.
I don't know whether or not it is appropriate to contact the person I purchased from. Am going out of town now and hope to have more time to investigate in a couple of weeks.
