The image quality is mostly quite good delivered directly via the download in the popular, relatively safe Adobe Systems PDF format. 'Adobe Reader' is required for viewing. No file compression/expansion was needed and being in PDF, the file passed virus scanning. It is thankfully not a simple optical scan of the paper version manual. They obviously had and used access to a digital, color, high quality data file image of most all of the E-TECs original service manual content files. Text, photos and tables show little/no blurriness, unusual aliasing or noteworthy image defects. The screen shots of EV-Diag and some drawings for example though are marginal, but as they were likely meant by BRP simply for printed use and were not originally captured by BRP with future image bit reductions and a powerful PDF 'Zoom' feature in mind.
Only small negative I found is that the publication date of this BRP published service manual for my motor indicates the download file was made using the original service manual created in 2008 for my motor. (I assume it not their fault as to my knowledge, BRP seemingly does add service manual addendums and does not ever update or correct the errors/omissions found within their various E-TEC service publications. So far I am a happy customer and having a high image quality tablet always nearby, I prefer the screen images over paper. (I too find major respected legitimate US based corporations these days sometimes do run their extensive websites absent of the HyperText Transfer Protocol Secure, aka HTTP-S registration/designation.).
